It has been practiced for centuries, and it has been placed in the human imagination even in Norse mythology. Nowadays, the survival of this noble sport among al the other professional sports is associated with horse betting activities, which practically keep the sport alive. This is a real industry and a major contributor to the economy of countries which practice it diligently. If you want to bet, the three most common ways to do it are: bet to win, bet to place, and bet to show. The first one of them, bet to win, means that you anticipate that your favorite horse is going to cross the finish line as the winner. The second one, bet to place, you estimate that your designated horse will finish either first or second in the race. The third and last, bet to show, means that you’re betting on your horse to finish in the top three positions. It is only logical that the rewards for each one of these types of bets gradually get lower. If you bet to show, you have a higher chance of a successful bet, because it is much more probable that a horse will finish in top 3 than on the first spot. Consequently, the profit for a successful bet to show is much lower than that of a bet to win which is easier but more rewarding.
